What is Chiropractic?
Chiropractors work with the bones, nerves and muscles of the spine to improve your health. Chiropractors have four years of specialized training to learn to locate misplaced spinal vertebrae that are impinging on the nerves that travel from the spinal cord. These nerves control all of the muscles, organs, pain and sensation in your body.
When these misplaced vertebrae are located, a chiropractor uses highly specialized techniques to correct the misalignment. The correction allows the pressure to be removed from the nerve and allows the body to begin healing the damaged tissues.
What is Massage Therapy?
Our registered massage therapist will help release tension and break down scar tissue in injured muscles. Massage therapy will reduce emotional stress, which in turn will reduce or eliminate the production of stress chemicals in the body. Stress chemicals can be harmful to the body over long periods of time. Physical touch and massage techniques involving slow, soothing strokes to one's back and neck can slow a busy, overworked mind and body.
What are Orthotics?
Orthotics may look simple, but they are actually the most advanced and effective foot prescription provided to patients by their doctor. Your prescription foot orthotics are precision instruments. Your doctor fabricates your custom-made orthotics to exact specifications based on the results of a complete foot exam that includes a physical exam, a computerized gait exam and a casting of the feet.
These devices do not merely function as arch supports, but rather control the way in which your feet function.

FAQ
Do I need a prescription? ⌄
Chiropractors are primary health providers who have the legal authority to diagnose and treat your condition. You do not need a prescription to make an appointment. If you have private health insurance, a prescription may be required for reimbursement. Please check with your provider.
Does OHIP pay for chiropractic care? ⌄
No. The Ontario government stopped paying for chiropractic care in December 2004, despite its own consultants having shown it to be cost-effective.
Will my private health insurance pay for chiropractic and massage therapy? ⌄
Yes. Most insurance will provide coverage for chiropractic and massage therapy.
Do you provide direct billing to my private health insurance? ⌄
Yes. We provide direct billing to most insurance companies.
Will it interfere with other treatments that I am receiving? ⌄
No. Chiropractic care works well with all forms of treatment such as massage, physiotherapy and acupuncture.
Does it hurt? ⌄
Approximately 10% of our patients will experience soreness during the first week of care as old injuries are broken down.
Is it dangerous? ⌄
No. Chiropractic has been proven to be a safe and effective treatment for all types of muscle and joint problems.
Can children get chiropractic and massage care? ⌄
Yes. Any person with a spine can benefit from these types of care. In fact, children typically respond very quickly to care because they don't have years of damage to repair.
